Exploring the Gems at the USS Tokyo Auto Auction

Last week, we had the privilege of attending the USS Tokyo Auto Auction, where over 17,000 vehicles were up for grabs. This staggering lineup featured everything from reliable daily drivers to jaw-dropping classics and quirky custom builds. Here are just a few of the standout vehicles we couldn’t resist capturing.

A nicely modified Porsche 964 Turbo stole the spotlight with its wide-body stance and unmistakable 90s performance, while a rare Porsche 930 Speedster exuded vintage exclusivity with its sleek, open-top design. For JDM enthusiasts, icons like the R34 Nissan GTR, 5th-generation Toyota Celica, and S215 chassis Celica were a dream come true, showcasing the evolution of Japanese performance engineering.

The nostalgia was real with a pair of classic Nissan Z cars, each a stunning tribute to Datsun’s sports car legacy. Rugged off-roaders like the 60-series Toyota Land Cruiser and a newer HZJ76 Land Cruiser reminded us of Toyota’s unparalleled off-road pedigree. Meanwhile, a Honda NSX stood out as the pinnacle of Japanese supercar design, and a Toyota Hilux Surf rounded out the JDM lineup with its practicality and adventurous spirit.

Luxury made an appearance with a pair of classic Rolls-Royces, their timeless designs exuding elegance and prestige. But the quirks didn’t end there. A wild Bosozoku-style car turned heads with its over-the-top extended bodywork, sky-high exhaust pipes, and vibrant paint job—an unmistakable nod to Japan’s unique car culture.

For comic relief, a micro-sized Suzuki Twin hilariously dressed up as a California Highway Patrol car had everyone stopping for a look. Complete with black-and-white livery, and faux police decals, it was a perfect blend of creativity and humor.

No exaggeration, at the USS Tokyo Auto Auction you never know what youre going to see there. From iconic performance cars and elegant classics to wild customs and straight bizarre creations, this auction always has something for everyone.
